eDART’s wet process control primary sampler may be placed either in a pressurised or unpressurised line. The sample may then be directed to an On-Stream Analyser or a suitable poppet sampler variation for secondary sampling so a fixed volume may be taken to the lab. The highly reliable results of the eDART sampler systems yields high confidence that process control people can rely on.
Pressurised Horizontal Sampler
The pressurised horizontal primary sampler retrieves flow from the central region of the main line to be sampled
Pressurised Vertical Sampler
The pressurised vertical primary sampler retrieves a sample from the centre of the pressurised line. The first option has a "continuous sampling nozzle" which extracts a sample stream. After secondary sampling of the stream, the balance of flow must be returned to the sump. The second option recirculates the flow within the primary sampler in such a manner that the secondary sampler can sample the stream effectively.
Gravity Vertical Down Sampler
The gravity vertical down primary sampler fully mixes the flow for representative sampling in vertically down lines.
Gravity Horizontal Sampler
The gravity horizontal primary sampler is used on non-pressurised lines by having their flow cut across the height of the stream. This sampler’s size may be reduced by bypassing the cutter with portals which pass straight through. These have been developed to minimise turbulence in the vicinity of the cutter.
eDART’s wet secondary process control samplers are variations on the established poppet sampler. A poppet sampler has a piston, with wear resistant seals, that pushes into the pressurised mainline, it pauses in the extended position to allow the chamber to fill and then it retracts to release the sample into a collection device at atmospheric pressure. These samplers are ideal for representative sampling over time.
The original poppet sampler was installed over thirty years ago, and they have been used in minerals processing ever since. Design has been recently been updated to improve safety. It is a compact, economical sampler for extracting a fixed volume slurry sample from the process line. To make sample handling easy it delivers the sample at atmospheric pressure.
The thief poppet sampler is a poppet sampler that can be removed from the process line without having to shut down that line. This allows for maintenance of the sampler outside of shutdown periods. These are eDART’s most common process control samplers and are used for control purposes and calibration of densitometers amongst other uses.
Coarse Poppet Sampler
The coarse poppet sampler has been specifically designed to sample coarse slurries, typically cyclone feed lines where sample particles up to 15 mm in diameter may be retrieved. This sampler features a tungsten carbide piston plate and a polyurethane sampling chamber for increased wear resistance. The samplers are used for calibration of densitometers and control purposes. In the retracted position the sampler is fully removed from the process stream to extend life expectancy.
